Conversions: 2.5 cups = 1 lb; 1/4 cup = 1.6 oz; 1 Tbsp ≈ 0.4 oz
Suggested Application Rates:
Vegetable Gardens & Flower Beds
¤ New: apply 3 - 6 lbs per 100 sq ft and thoroughly mix into the top 3" of soil.
¤ Transplants: add 1 - 2 Tbsp per hole mixing into the soil and watering well.
¤ Established: side dress 2 - 4 oz, depending on plant size and desired growth rate, once each month during the growing season.
Containers
¤ New: add 1 - 2 Tbsp per gallon of soil mixing thoroughly (or add 6 - 10 lbs per cubic yard).
¤ Established: lightly mix 1 - 2 Tbsp per gallon into the soil surface once each month during the growing season.
Berries
¤ New: apply 3 - 6 lbs per 100 sq ft and thoroughly mix into the top 3" of soil.
¤ Transplants: add 1/2 cup into the back fill soil, using the amended soil to fill in around the new tree and watering well.
¤ Established: side dress 1 cup per plant in early spring, mixing into the soil and watering well. Repeat when blooms appear and again at half rate in the fall.
Trees and Shrubs
¤ New: prepare transplant hole by mixing 1 - 2 cups into the back fill soil, using the amended soil to fill in around the new tree and watering well.
¤ Established: spread 1 lb per 1" of trunk diameter around the base outwards to the drip line mixing into the soil surface and watering well.
