Description

Known as the Purple Coneflower, Echinacea purpurea is a hardy perennial that can be used as a cut flower, dried edible and as a medical herb.

Most people know Echinacea as an herb that fights all kinds of infection, most commonly used during the cold and flu season.

The Purple Coneflower has a fibrous root system and is a drought-tolerant perennial that is also deer resistant.  In strong sunlight, they have a slight fragrance, blooming June through September with the possibility of a re-bloom in the fall.
