Lawns

¤ New: Apply in a ratio of 5lbs per 100 sq ft and work lightly into the topsoil; mix in grass seed; water. Re-apply monthly as a top dressing.

¤ Established: Apply as a top dressing in a ratio of 5lbs er 100 sq ft; water. Re-apply monthly.

Trees, Shrubs, Roses, Berries

¤ Transplanted: Mix 1 part to 2 parts soil; surround newly dug hole with mixture. Spread roots over a mound of the mix in the hole, cover; water. Re-apply monthly as a top dressing.

¤ Established: Mix 4 cups into soil 2-3" below the soil surface for each plant; water. Re-apply monthly as a top dressing.

Container Plants

¤ Transplanted: Mix 1 part to 3 parts soil; carefully place plants with roots pointed downward; water. Re-apply monthly as a top dressing.

¤ Established: Add 1" to the surface of the soil; mix into soil being careful not to damage the shallow roots; water. Re-apply monthly as a top dressing.

¤ Perennial Flowers:  Carefully mix 1/2 cup into the soil above the plant root zone; do not damage shallow roots; water. Re-apply monthly as a top dressing.

¤ Annual Flowers:  Mix 1 part to 3 parts soil; place plant in hole and cover roots with mixture; water. Re-apply monthly as a top dressing.

¤ Vegetable Gardens:  Line seed furrow with 1" worm cast; set seeds in place and cover with soil; water. Re-apply as a top dressing when plants are at 2-3 leaf stage and then again 1/2 way through growing season.

¤ Worm Cast Tea:  Add 1 cup to 1 gallon of water and let steep for 24 hours; shake well and water as usual. The clear liquid may be used as a topical spray as needed.  

¤ Compost Piles/Bins:  Spread a thin layer between each new layer of material to be composted.
